The Smart Scenes feature in the Smart Life app enables you to automate various tasks for your ABIS Smart Clothes Airer, such as scheduling drying times based on specific conditions, weather, or even interacting with other smart devices. By setting up scenes, you can create custom routines that simplify your laundry tasks and optimise energy usage.
Step 1: Open the Smart Life App
- Open the Smart Life App on your smartphone.
- Ensure your ABIS Smart Clothes Airer is already connected to the app and functioning properly.
Step 2: Navigate to the ‘Smart’ Tab
- At the bottom of the home screen, tap on the ‘Smart’ tab.
- This is where you can create and manage Scenes and Automations.
Step 3: Create a New Smart Scene
- Tap the “+” (plus) icon in the top-right corner to create a new scene.
- You will be given two options:
- Tap-to-Run: This lets you trigger the scene manually.
- Automation: This runs automatically based on specific conditions. Choose this option to automate drying schedules.
Step 4: Set the Trigger for Your Scene
You need to define what will trigger your ABIS Smart Clothes Airer to start or stop automatically. Here are several options for setting a trigger:
1. Time of Day (Scheduled Trigger)
- If you want to automate the drying schedule at a specific time, choose Schedule.
- Set the time you want the airer to start and stop (e.g., turn on at 8:00 AM and turn off at 10:00 AM).
- Choose the days you want this schedule to repeat (e.g., weekdays, weekends, or specific days).
2. Weather Conditions
- You can automate the airer based on weather conditions, such as high humidity or rainy days, which are not ideal for outdoor drying.
- Choose Weather as the trigger.
- Set the condition (e.g., “humidity above 80%” or “rainy day”) and decide what action the airer should take (e.g., turn on the airer for indoor drying).
3. Device Status
- You can create scenes where the airer interacts with other smart devices in your home.
- For example, if a smart plug powers an additional drying fan or heater, you can set the airer to turn off when the plug is powered off.
- Choose Device Status and select the appropriate device and condition to trigger the airer.
4. Location (Geo-Fencing)
- Use Location to trigger the airer when you leave or arrive at home.
- Set a condition like “turn on the airer when I leave home” to ensure it runs only when you’re away.
Step 5: Add an Action for the Airer
Once you’ve selected a trigger, you need to define what action your ABIS Smart Clothes Airer should take when the condition is met.
- Tap ‘Add Task’.
- Choose Run Device and select your ABIS Smart Clothes Airer.
- Choose the specific action you want to automate, such as:
- Turn On: Start drying when the trigger occurs.
- Turn Off: Stop drying when the trigger condition is no longer met (e.g., after a set time or once the weather clears up).
- If desired, you can add multiple actions (e.g., turn on the airer and a smart plug connected to a fan).
Step 6: Customise Additional Conditions (Optional)
You can add extra conditions to fine-tune the scene further. For example:
- Only run the airer if the time of day falls within a specific range.
- Only activate if the temperature is below or above a certain threshold.
To add these conditions:
- Tap ‘Add Condition’ and choose from options like time, temperature, or device status.
- Configure the condition to suit your needs (e.g., “only run the airer between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM”).
Step 7: Save and Name Your Scene
- After setting the trigger and action, give your scene a meaningful name, like “Morning Drying Schedule” or “Rainy Day Drying.”
- Tap Save to activate the scene.
Step 8: Test Your Scene
To ensure your Smart Scene works as expected:
- Test the trigger by either waiting for it to occur (e.g., scheduled time or weather condition) or manually adjusting the condition (e.g., turning off a connected device).
- Monitor the app to see if the airer activates and deactivates according to your scene settings.
