Creating Automation Routines with the ABIS Smart Clothes Airer in the Smart Life App

Automation routines allow you to create personalised schedules and actions for your ABIS Smart Clothes Airer based on various triggers, such as time, weather, or other devices. With the Smart Life app, you can automate your airer to work in sync with your smart home ecosystem, adding extra convenience to your daily routine.

Step 1: Open the Smart Life App

  1. Make sure your ABIS Smart Clothes Airer is connected to the Smart Life app and functioning properly.
  2. Open the Smart Life app on your smartphone.
  3. Tap on the “Smart” option at the bottom of the screen to access the automation and scenes section.

Step 2: Creating a New Automation

  1. Under the Automation tab, tap “+” (plus) in the top right corner to create a new automation routine.
  2. You’ll be presented with an option to set a trigger for the automation. This is what will activate your airer automatically.

Step 3: Choose a Trigger for the Automation

You can select from a variety of triggers to start your automation routine:

  1. Time of Day:
    • Tap Schedule, and choose a specific time to start the airer (e.g., turn on the airer at 10:00 AM every day).
  2. Weather:
    • Tap Weather Changes if you want the airer to turn on or off based on weather conditions (e.g., when humidity is high, the airer can activate to speed up drying).
  3. Location (Geo-Fencing):
    • Tap Location and set up a location-based trigger (e.g., the airer turns off when you leave home or turns on when you arrive).
  4. Device Status:
    • If you have other smart devices, you can set the airer to respond when a different device triggers an action (e.g., if a window closes, the airer turns on).

Step 4: Set the Action for Your ABIS Smart Clothes Airer

Once you’ve set the trigger, it’s time to define what action the airer will take when the trigger occurs:

  1. After selecting the trigger, tap Add Task.
  2. Choose Run Device and select your ABIS Smart Clothes Airer from the list.
  3. Choose the action you want the airer to perform:
    • Turn On: The airer will turn on automatically based on the trigger.
    • Turn Off: The airer will power down when the condition is met.
    • You can also combine actions, such as turning the airer on for a set amount of time and then turning it off.

Step 5: Fine-Tuning the Automation

  1. After selecting the action, you can further customize the automation by adding conditions:
    • For example, you could create an automation that only triggers during certain days of the week (e.g., run the airer only on weekdays).
    • You can also stack multiple conditions, such as the airer only turning on when both the weather is dry and you’re at home.

Step 6: Save the Automation

  1. Once you’ve set the trigger and action, tap Save or Done to activate the automation.
  2. The new automation will appear in your list of automations, and you can enable or disable it at any time.

Example Automation Routines for Your ABIS Smart Clothes Airer

Here are some useful examples of automation routines you can create with your ABIS Smart Clothes Airer:

1. Automatically Turn On the Airer When You Leave Home (Geo-Fencing)

  • Trigger: Location – When you leave home.
  • Action: Turn on the ABIS Smart Clothes Airer.
  • Benefit: Your clothes can start drying while you’re out, and the airer will automatically shut off when you’re done.

2. Dry Clothes Based on Weather Conditions

  • Trigger: Weather – When it’s raining or humidity is high.
  • Action: Turn on the airer.
  • Benefit: If it’s too humid for clothes to dry naturally, your airer can automatically start and handle the drying process for you.

3. Dry Clothes at Night to Save Energy

  • Trigger: Time – 10:00 PM every day.
  • Action: Turn on the airer.
  • Benefit: Dry clothes during off-peak electricity hours, saving on energy costs.

4. Turn Off the Airer When the Door is Opened (Integration with Smart Door Sensor)

  • Trigger: Device Status – When a door sensor detects that a door is opened.
  • Action: Turn off the airer.
  • Benefit: Automatically shut off the airer if someone opens a door, preventing it from running unnecessarily.

Editing or Deleting Automations

  1. If you want to make changes to an existing automation, go back to the “Smart” tab in the Smart Life app.
  2. Find the automation you want to modify, tap on it, and make any necessary changes.
  3. To delete an automation, tap on the automation and look for the Delete option, usually found at the bottom of the screen.

Troubleshooting Automation Issues

  • Automation not triggering: Ensure your phone and the airer are connected to the internet, as the app relies on a stable connection for automation to work.
  • Location-based triggers: For geo-fencing automations, ensure that location services are enabled for the Smart Life app in your phone’s settings.
  • Weather triggers: Make sure the app is allowed to access your location to provide accurate weather data.

You’re Ready to Automate!

With the automation routines in the Smart Life app, your ABIS Smart Clothes Airer can be customized to run automatically, saving you time and making your home even smarter.
