Can’t Find Your ABIS Smart Clothes Airer in the App? Here’s What to Do

If you’re having trouble finding your ABIS Smart Clothes Airer in the Smart Life app during setup or it disappears after previously being connected, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue. Follow these steps to get your smart airer connected and visible in the app.

1. Ensure the Airer is Powered On and Ready for Pairing

Issue: The airer doesn’t appear in the app during setup.

Solution:

  • Check Power Connection: Make sure the airer is plugged into a working outlet and that the power indicator light is on.
  • Put the Airer in Pairing Mode: The airer needs to be in pairing mode to be found by the app.
    • Press and hold the Sync Button for 5–10 seconds until the indicator light starts blinking rapidly. This indicates the airer is in pairing mode and ready to connect.

2. Verify Your Wi-Fi Connection

Issue: The airer isn’t connecting to the Wi-Fi or appearing in the app.

Solution:

  • Use 2.4GHz Wi-Fi: The ABIS Smart Clothes Airer only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks, not 5GHz. Check your phone’s Wi-Fi settings and ensure you’re connected to the correct network.
    • If your router supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, make sure you’re using the 2.4GHz band.
  • Strong Signal: Ensure that the airer is within range of your Wi-Fi router. If the signal is weak, the airer may not appear in the app.
  • Check Router Settings: If you’ve recently changed your router settings or password, you may need to reset the airer and reconnect it to the network.

3. Reset the ABIS Smart Clothes Airer

Issue: The airer was previously connected but no longer shows up in the app.

Solution:

  1. Reset the Airer: Press and hold the Sync Button for 10–15 seconds until the light starts blinking again. This will reset the Wi-Fi settings on the airer and allow you to reconnect it.
  2. Re-add the Device: Open the Smart Life app, tap the “+” (plus) icon to add a new device, and follow the setup instructions to reconnect the airer.

4. Refresh the Smart Life App

Issue: The airer was connected but is not appearing in the list of devices.

Solution:

  • Refresh the App: Sometimes the app may fail to refresh properly. Close the Smart Life app and reopen it to see if the airer appears.
  • Check Device List: Ensure you’re viewing the correct section in the app where the airer should be listed. You can try toggling between different tabs or refreshing the home screen.

5. Delete and Reinstall the Smart Life App

Issue: The app is unresponsive or showing outdated information.

Solution:

  1. Delete the App: Uninstall the Smart Life app from your smartphone.
  2. Reinstall the App: Go to the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) and reinstall the Smart Life app.
  3. Log In: After reinstalling, log in with your existing Smart Life account, and check if the airer reappears in the device list.

6. Disable and Re-enable Your Phone’s Wi-Fi

Issue: The app isn’t detecting the airer during the setup process.

Solution:

  1. Disable Wi-Fi: Turn off your phone’s Wi-Fi for a few seconds, then turn it back on.
  2. Reconnect to Wi-Fi: Ensure your phone reconnects to the correct 2.4GHz network and try adding the airer again in the Smart Life app.

7. Check for Firmware or App Updates

Issue: The device isn’t functioning properly or doesn’t show up.

Solution:

  • Update the Smart Life App: Go to the App Store or Google Play Store and check if an update is available for the Smart Life app. An outdated app can cause connection problems.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: If your airer was previously connected but isn’t working properly, check the Device Information section for firmware updates. Keeping your firmware up to date can solve many issues.

8. Router-Specific Settings

Issue: The airer still doesn’t show up after several attempts to reconnect.

Solution:

  • Disable MAC Filtering: If your router has MAC filtering enabled, it may be blocking the airer from connecting. Disable MAC filtering temporarily or add the airer’s MAC address to the allowed list.
  • Limit on Connected Devices: Some routers have a limit on the number of devices that can connect at once. If your network has too many devices connected, try disconnecting a few and then attempt to add the airer again.

9. Restart Your Router

Issue: The airer isn’t connecting despite being in pairing mode.

Solution:

  1. Restart the Router: Unplug your router for 30 seconds and plug it back in to restart it.
  2. Reconnect: Once your internet connection is restored, try reconnecting the airer by going through the setup process in the Smart Life app.

10. Contact Customer Support

Issue: After troubleshooting, the airer still does not appear in the app.

Solution:

  • If none of the above solutions work, contact ABIS customer support or refer to the product manual for further assistance. There may be a specific issue with the airer that requires professional help.
